CANADA DAY

Canada Day, July 1, is one of the most exciting days in North Rustico. It is a day of celebration, fun, laughter and good times. It is a day for friends and family to gather and enjoy the day with loved ones. Canada Day is packed with activities, music, and fireworks. Enjoy a meal at one of our local restaurants or pack a picnic to share outside. The Canada Day Celebrations in North Rustico are one of the highlights of the year and attracts 10 000 people to the community annually. Some visitors have been returning for more than 20 years. It is a non-commercial day that is fun for people of all ages.


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
10:30 Street Parade begins at Gulf Shore School, follows Main St and ends at the North Star Arena. Parade Theme is "The Queens Diamond Jubilee". Cooke Insurance will return this year with "Stuff the Bus". Please bring in your non-perishable food items to be given during the parade to "stuff the bus" for the food bank. Contact Jeff or Wendy Gadsden 963-2205 for more information about the Parade.
12:00 Official flag raising at Centennial Park and singing of O’Canada by Carolyn Bertram and The John J Sark Memorial Singers. Gordon Belcher & Richard Wood are on the Grandstand.
12:15 Booths and Got Bobbled open in the park. Fun for everyone! Contact Alison Larkin 626-6803 for information about renting booths.
12:30 Dump Road Derby- Timber Lane
1:30 Local talent featuring; Kaitlyn Gallant, Buddy and the Fellas, and more…
2:00 Bingo in the Fire Hall
2:30 The Ross Family on the Grandstand
2:50 Watermelon Eating Contest
4:00 Kim Albert and Faces on the Grandstand
4:30 Royal address from “Her Majesty the Queen”
6:00 Boat Parade on Rustico Bay
